As Christians we need not fear death. We know that God is love and that there will be a bountiful life for us after death. Indeed, death is simply surrendering ourselves into God’s hands.
Even with our faith it can still be difficult to think about leaving a Will, and it is easy to postpone making decisions about what will happen when we are gone. However, knowing you have made arrangements actually offers a tremendous comfort. It is reassuring to know your family will be looked after, your affairs will be handled as you wish, and without any burden on your loved ones during a difficult time for them.
We would all like to leave a legacy for our family and children. But once those closest to us have been provided for, what else do we want to leave behind?
For most of us, the Church has been a constant in our lives, providing guidance, inspiration, community and joy, as well as comfort in darker times. We all want our Church to flourish and provide pastoral care and spiritual guidance to the next generation of Catholics. Your legacy will ensure the Church will be a better spiritual home for your children, grandchildren and their offspring.
By leaving a donation to the Wijngaards Institute in your Will, you will help ensure our work reforming the the Church continues. Your legacy can build a modern and inclusive Church for the 21st century, one in which the next generation of Catholics will take their place and live their Faith.
When we are gone, the Faith, values and traditions we hold sacred can live on. A donation to the Wijngaards institute in your Will can breathe new life into our Church and preserve that which is dearest to us.
``The Christian faces death realistically, but also knows it is a gateway, a new start, a fulfilment of human life. The ultimate union with that which is most lovable, union with God, is the moment of ecstasy, the unending now of complete happiness. That vision will draw from us the response of surprise, wonder and joy which will be forever our prayer of praise. We are made for that.``
